Our skilled, experienced team is able to manage special cases anywhere in the world.
Airlec Ambulance provides fast worldwide deployment thanks to our Hawker 1000B Elixir. Our global experience in Asia, America, Africa, Europe and the Middle East allows us to respond to emergency situations anywhere in the world. We have the capacity to quickly grow our team if needed.
Neonatal and paediatric intensive care
A paediatric team provides intensive care to infants and new-borns. The repatriation and emergency resuscitation of premature infants, term infants or children with septic shock, cardiogenic shock or respiratory distress are the hallmarks of this Airlec unit. The medical crew have
access to a full range of onboard equipment, including incubators, paediatric ventilators, multiparameter monitoring, onboard laboratories and electronic station syringes complement the human device.
A significant proportion (25%) of patients that we repatriate have a Glasgow Coma Score (GCS) of
less than 7 and require intensive care and life support. Respiratory support is provided on board using the most appropriate ventilation techniques. Hospital acquired multi-resistant bacterial infections are dealt with following strict internal procedures and materials such as an isolation stretcher (BK multiresistant).
We can handle patients up to 370 lbs thanks to the introduction of loading ramps. We use mechanical and electrical ramps to facilitate the loading of the patient. We can also utilise a cargo door with a width of 92 cm (36 inches) on our Citation Super II aircraft.
Emerging infectious diseases and agents
A unit of six doctors and nurses trained for CBRN-E risk has a negative-pressure isolation stretcher and bio-hazard suits. Airlec successfully transferred nearly all European victims of the Ebola virus outbreak of winter 2014-2015, evidence of its strict protocols and professionalism. Decontamination and disinfection procedures meet the highest standards.
Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO)
A surgical team consisting of a heart surgeon , a perfusionist , an anaesthetist and an intensive care nurse is available for any repatriation of patient in ARDS or cardiogenic shock. Our team perform veno venous or arteriovenous cannulation at the bedside. Our aircraft are equipped with specially designed ECMO technical platforms.
A commercial medical escort and ground ambulance department was opened in response to customer demand. Airlec Medical organises medical assistance and the possibility of an escort on commercial passenger aircraft. Our team supports the patient before, during and after the flight and can take care of organizing land ambulances and finding a hospital bed.
